Creative Critical Reflection #4
How did you integrate technologies- Software, hardware, and online- in this project? During my project I used many types of software online such as Canva and Microsoft Publisher. I used Canva for the design of the magazine to create a real and formal looking magazine that is comparable to an actual company magazine. Canva had the design options that best suited my visions for the magazine. I used Microsoft Publisher as a software to transfer my designs over for formatting. I would save my designs from canva and transfer them to Publisher and then finally transfer it to blogger.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
My production skills developed in many ways. One of the ways it developed was through out the process of creating and researching magazines I developed an understanding on how to create an eye catching design and how to format text to make it easy to read and understand. I also found an understanding of the types of pictures that need to be included. You can't have too many pictures of similar objects you have to include a variety to keep the audience focused.

Creative Critical Reflection #2
2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as Real media text?
Our Product magazine Florida Angler engages with an angler audience by providing stories and knowledge on fishing stories and ways of the trade. Our product would be distributed digitally through our websites where you can order subscriptions, and we would also have hard copies in tackles stores and other fishing related stores.

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? Our magazine doesn't really challenge any social issues but our magazine does represent the angler community as a social group. We also tried to incorporate ideas to also include the non angler social group ass well so we could have a well rounded magazine everyone could enjoy. Our magazine also doesn't challenge ordinary magazine conventions. Our magazine runs petty close to what regular magazines look like, we did that to give our audience the authentic feel of a true magazine.

Revised articles
Article revisions
After receiver feedback of my articles I knew what needed to be changed. The Most common piece of feedback I received was that it was hard to tell where new questions of the interview began. To overcome that I bolded and changed the color to a light blue of the written questions to differentiate from the dark color of the text in the rest of the article. The next thing I did was rearrange the pictures to be on the right side and left side of the article for a cleaner and more professional look. I also updated the article pictures from my most recent trip to the Sebastian inlet with my Edward Nicolace. I also added page numbers along with Florida angler brand name at the bottom of the page.

Revised cover
Revised Cover
After the feed back I received on my cover page I realized their were some changes that I needed to make. Many of my peers had issues seeing some of my text. To over come that problem I changed the text to a color that was more visisble in a certain position on the page. Next I added more specific details that would be included on a real magazine. Such as the Month of march and the year so the reader would be able to determine which issue of the magazine they are reading.

Revised Table of Contents
Revised Table of Contents
After receiving feedback from my class mates, my group and I decided to make so changes to make our table of contents lay out more professional and better looking. We chose to add five Photos and place them on the right side. I added our magazine name Florida Angler to the bottom left corner. We all decided on the font ''Lato'' size 30 for the word table of contents, and "Abril Fatface'' for our page numbers.
Distribution plan
My group and I plan to distribute our magazine in many different ways, we decided on using traditional and digital distribution. Our magazine would be sold in fishing stores, book stores, and even local grocery stores, but that is not the only way we will sell our product. Either on our website or our app there would be a section where you can subscribe to the magazine electronically, and have it delivered monthly to your doorstep. Not only are you able to subscribe to our magazine, you can also get the inside scoop or tips and tricks about fishing as well. Also, you are able to receive updates on what is going on in the Florida Angler community.

Distribution post- Florida Sportsman

Florida Sportsman magazine distributes their product in may ways including the traditional plan along with also online sales. As I researched Barnes and Noble along with local fish and tackle stores carried the magazine in store. Barns and Noble also carried copies online. The most common companies that carry the magazine online are Magazines.com and DiscountMags.com.
Distribution post- Florida Sportfishing
Florida Sportfishing tends to stay more conservative on the online market. The only place places I found that sells the magazine are Barnes & Noble online along with their own Magazine website where you can subscribe. In the local tackle shop here, I also came across a few copies of the magazine.
Distribution post
Most companies use the traditional distribution model which includes the Producer, the retailers, and the wholesaler. Usually the producer will sell the products to the wholesaler then the wholesaler will sell it to the retailers who then sell it to customers. In other instances companies that sell magazines will take action into their own hands and set up locations such as a tent at events to directly sell to their community. We would most like utilize both of these strategies because selling to the wholesaler sell more product in bulk, but selling directly to the buyer makes a name for the brand.

Marketing plan
Based on my research I have concluded the most effective ways to promote my magazine ''Florida Angler'' will be through Social Media, Business partnerships and, sponsoring fishing tournaments. Based on the other magazine companies that I have researched the most successful ones has a partner Television series with commercials about the magazines and help partnerships with popular fishing and boat companies. In our magazines community we have many fishing tournaments and fishing based businesses, making it easy to target who we want to use for publicity. Our main way to reach out to specifically the younger community is our Instagram account. We will post steps of the magazine production process and issues along with fan submissions of their catches and fish stories.

Target audience- Sport fishing magazine
Website:

They also have a television show on discovery channel so they can reach a more widespread audience compared to the competitors who often only have televisions shows that cover only a specific area

Target audience- Florida sportsman
Social Media:
Florida sportsman has multiple social media accounts such as twitter and Instagram to promote their magazine and shout out some of the Florida anglers that follow their magazine.
TV:
Florida sports man also has a television show called "Reel Time'' Florida sportsman. The show does mention the magazine does mention the magazine from time to time in sponsorship ads before the show but usually does not explicitly promote it during the show.

Target Audience-Florida sport fishing
The ideal target audience for our magazine is the angler community. But our magazine is also constructed to accommodate non anglers with magazine articles on businesses and the environment. We want all genders and ages to be able to read and enjoy our magazine. Our magazine includes both salt and freshwater fishing so it widens the area of geography covered. I would say that our magazine is for the middle to upper class with a reasonable price. If the magazine price is too high many of our readers would not be able to buy as many copies. The education level does not matter for our magazine. It is built for designed and beginner anglers. No matter how experienced they will receive some amount of value out of tour magazine.
Social media:
Florida sport fishing is a magazine that has an Instagram and also a twitter that promotes both their magazine and television program.
TV show:
Florida sports fishing also has a television show that promotes the magazine in it's commercials and even during the episodes the anglers will shout out the magazine. This is an important strategy because you reach a wider audience when you do this because many people prefer viewing a program than a magazine initially but when you introduce the magazine then it will intrigue the viewers to investigate.

Feedback/Revisions
While my magazine project was being reviewed by my peers, I received plenty of feedback on how to improve my magazine. The most common piece of criticism I received was that my readers said the some of my cover text was placed in areas or in colors that were difficult to read. I will most like change the text from black to white in those dark hard to read places. The next critique I received was that I should make my font bigger and more interesting. I will search for a more creative and eye catching font. Also many people complained that it was hard to find where the next question stated. The last change I will make is to space out my interview questions to make it stand out and be more obvious on where the answer to the next question begins. I will also make the questions in a bigger font to also help with the break in questions.

Use of conventions
One of the most unique conventions we used was the variety of fonts. As for the title font I wanted a very simple and clean looking title that was easy to read but also catches the readers eye. As for the article previews on the cover I used a script like font so that a more sophisticated and fancy look was implemented. My magazine represents the fishing community for the most part but also includes information that draws attention for the every day person. We tried to create a magazine that could be enjoyed by the avid angler along with a non angler.
